Journey of Hope

@zuzushafi

@zuzushafi

I drag my feet

Leaving behind a trail of dust

As my feet scuff

Across the  ground

Needless to say I have grown wary

On this seemingly endless journey

Searching for a heart containing purity

With each step hope dwindles

All I have met is folk trying to swindle

Me, of my belief in humanity

Is this a fools errand I have embarked upon?

I am so tired now

Should I go on?

The nights have been darker

Than the days have been bright

Do I have the strength to continue this fight?

Dear Readers,

This is the FIRST of a select few GUEST BLOGGERS who will be taking over ‘Cynical Me or Stupid You?’  to share their own rantings, creativity, expression or confusions. I hope you enjoy what they have to offer.  So I welcome Farhana, who was kind enough to accept my invitation to share her amazing photography with you all. I absolutely love nature and the talent of being able to capture its glory. Farhana does this effortlessly and combines her amazing work with poignant quotes. An amazing marriage.

So without any further ado, I give you Farhana Rawat…

Hello and Salaams.. Greetings and Salutations!

I am so honoured to be able to share a bit of myself on this awesome Blog, that I have come to know and enjoy. So firstly, my thanks and gratitude to Zishaan Shafi.

I am a Muslim lady, Masha’Allah, so blessed to be living near the Lake District National Park. Until recently I have kept those images in my fondest memories, but now having acquired a rather nice DSLR camera, the mood often takes me to photograph images all over and share them with the world. I believe that no image replicated could compare with the unique creation and beauty of Allah SWT and I truly believe that it is HE who presses the shutter each time I take an image on my camera. I hope you like what I am sharing with you today and feel free to join my page on Facebook- you would all be so welcome.

”Seek the Silence and learn to breathe. A little air works wonders for the mind and soul, and often it is in the silence that comes our greatest gift of sharing. Words alone could never convey the truth of Silence, and silence wouldn’t mean a thing if there was nobody to hear it. The heart speaks in silence while true love speaks in unspoken words.”

Please ask your silence not to shout at me!!

Hello Blog World…

I know I have been quiet.. and I know many of you are thankful for thatBUT I wanted to disturb the peace and pop by to say…I am here, I am thinking, I am formulating…I am just not sharing much as of late… this will change… much to your dismay…

There is a face lift coming ”CynicalMeorStupidYou?” way and a host of new posts. I will be trying some new stuff and inviting some great Bloggers to raid this space and have their way.

Until then I Just wanted to say….

All that lives longs to be loved and it is loved THROUGH US. Every time you love you honour the Creator.

So love by word, love by art, love by photography, love by looking, love by touching, love by song, love by prose.. just LOVE dammit.

Love heals wounds that people didnt even know they had. Love heals wounds that are thought to be fatal.

That is the power of love!

Love can transform the wretched. Love can save the doomed. Love can revive the hopeless. Love can heal the sick. Love is the only cure

Like all things, if done wrong, it can cause more harm than good.

So love the right way and love the right things.

Start with yourself and work your way out from there.

As you begin to Love the path will become clear.

Today is the second year anniversary of the greatest loss in my life. Losing my Dad. Every day since has been hard. Every day is an anniversary. Wanted to post this to remember him openly and help relieve some of what is in my heart and mind.

Heartbreak

Beloved heartbreaker

Beloved heartbreaker

I stifle my sobs of anguish

As you tear through the flesh of my chest

To reach my beating heart

Heartbreaker you are killing me.

But I am glad for the pain

If it means I get to see your face again

Heartbreaker you have bested me

It is a defeat I boast of gladly

O Beloved Heartbreaker

Who appears when I sleep

Haunting my swim through midnight pools

Of dreams.

You drag me down

To the darkest places

I plunge the very depths of misery

My tears filling the seas

Leading them to overflow

Beloved Heartbreaker

Don’t you know

How much you hurt me

Beloved Heartbreaker

Don’t you know

This is how I want it to be

LOVE

I want to talk about LOVE.

I’m not talking romance and relationships. I want to tackle LOVE. The energy. I want to explore and share my ignorance with you guys in a hope you will cure it with answers. I need to understand why there is a lack of it. Why it is becoming a stranger in a home that it made. I want to understand why expressing it seems to be so difficult to us. Why am I weird for wanting to share it with everyone and anyone who I come across.

Yes I am one of those people. I love to say hello to strangers, I love smiling at people, I love striking up conversations. Hell If I could I would go around hugging people. I am fully aware of how uncomfortable it makes some people feel, but I love it because the next time I hope it will be less alien to them. I am a firm believer in exchanges of love between two strangers as I don’t feel that we are strangers. we are children of the earth. We are one and the same. I know you. I think there is nothing to gain from hiding it, yet there is everything to gain from expressing it. Friendliness breaks barriers. My commitment to sharing and spreading love helps to heal divisions and shatter misconceptions.

I feel like a lone ranger at times.

Whenever I come across anyone talkative, smiling, friendly and radiating love from their every pore, I feel invigorated and hopeful. Such people are the ones who dispel the dark and bring warmth to a cold world. We need more of this.

SO…

Why are people so hesitant to say something nice?

Why not smile at a stranger?

Why think twice before giving a compliment?

What is it which makes us question displays of love?

Who planted seeds of humanitarian discord by poisoning this pure energy source?

Is it not the most natural of things? Does it not make you feel amazing inside? Does it no lead to goodness?

It is human. It is real. It is organic.

It is considered a weakness. It is a good weakness. It is revealing.

I am proud to admit it. I am a sucker for LOVE. In its pure form. Not for twisted notions of romance, but for its essence. I want to be loved. I want to feel it envelope me. I long for days filled with exchanges of love, from those known and unknown to me. I want to experience it undiluted and concentrated.

I want to kiss the every face of Love. It has so many.

There have been so many occasions where someone has misunderstood my love. Used it against me. Taken it for a weakness. Turned it into something wretched. They defiled something which was pure. It made me feel embarrassed. My face flushed with shame. Hot. Red. Regret.

That then spawns Fear. Fear prevents us from further expressions of love. It closes us off.

It shouldn’t.

It does.

Never regret a display of genuine love. Nothing sincere should be followed with remorse. If someone else cannot process something so pure, that is their loss. If they do not understand how to behave with love etiquette, that is their failing, not yours. You responsibility is to create and spread love. So do not be deterred.

The power of a single action, which is suffused with love, cannot be underestimated. It begins a chain of actions, whose timeline could extend for years…potentially never ending. You could be the one to begin that, you could be a part of it. Of a global exchange of love. It began with the first pair of human lives. It may have been broken and then restarted, but it endures. You are part of something as old as humanity. You

Don’t be the one who receives but doesn’t pass on. Do not be the weak link, the break or disturbance in the energy flow.

LOVE is misunderstood. Hollywood, piss poor singers, science and multinationals have all distorted it. It is raw. It is ancient. It is one of the forces which binds the universe. It is magnificent and colossal. It is a building block of life. It is expressed by all living things, it runs through us all. It is spoken in one language. A universal tongue. It’s power is epic.It can heal wounds that people did not know were there.

A smile. A hug. A kind word. A thank you or please. A minute of your time. A simple action. These can have such powerful ramifications upon the world. Don’t underestimate them.

Stop over thinking love. Stop being afraid. Stop disturbing the flow.

LIFE

Wrote this whilst listening to ‘Time After Time’ by Margaret Whiting on a loop. It is one of my favourite songs. Her voice is so gentle. Her delivery of each word is laden with sincere emotion. She never over exerts her voice. Effortless. I miss that simplicity in music. I may be 25, but I am a child of all eras and cultures. I am a child of life. From its Dawn.

It is on this topic that I felt inspired to write. To talk Life. Try to capture just some of the beautiful parts of it. To share my thoughts, doubts and confusions.

I think so often that I get caught up in trying to understand life rather than just trying to live it. I need to let life teach the lessons, learn from them as I live them, rather than trying to learn before the class is in session.

I find myself  more focused upon my destination than my journey. Always looking ahead, rather than looking out of the window and admiring the scenery, absorbing what is going on around me. Thus losing the joy from life. Those tantalising moments.

That is what I guess it means to ‘live in the moment’, though they are all interconnected, they are also independent to one another. There is a wisdom in enjoying each one, and an art to being able to make each one flow seamlessly into the next.

That is something I want to achieve. I want each moment to be organic and unique. Thus achieving a true life. I need to shed my propensity towards communist, uniform, regimented order. It may bring success of a sort, minimise mistakes and produce order…but it takes away the freedom of spirit and the bliss of an unadulterated moment of pure joy. I have things to work on. I am moving towards them.

What do you understand (or do not) about Life? Share your thoughts and misgivings. Forward to me your philosophy or observation. Through one another we can live it better.

LIFE

This overwhelming sadness

This terrifying joy

This concoction of confusion

This thing we call life

The wanton unpredictability

Spider web fragility

The sheer infuriating futility

Which highlights our inability

Constant state of confusion

Leaves me disillusioned

More so when we add epiphanies to the infusion

Moments of clarity

Amidst delusions

Sweet and tender moments

Sugar sweet romance

Intoxicating highs

Precede the most bitter of goodbyes

Oh this thing called Life

Greater than a single mind

For we are but of an earthly design

Leave comprehension to the Divine

Live your Life

Whilst you have the time

Sense and Sensibility

Sense and Sensibility

Will you be the end of me

For sometimes I feel

That you restrict my creativity

Which indeed

Forms the core of me

It is who I am

All that I know

My greatest facet

Which allows me to grow

Sense and Sensibility

You bind me in ropes

Of monotony

Bound to convention

You hate the mere mention

Of riding free

In cosmic emancipation

Prefer me to toil in daily tribulation

Sense and Sensibility

Can you not understand

I was not made to bend

To the tides of time

I am not cut from common cloth

And for that I suffer your wroth

Why?

Just because I will not accept

Social uniformity

It is tedious

For me to accept it

Would be grievous

Sense and Sensibility

You would have me slaughter

The child inside

Be it Son or Daughter

But I will never sacrifice

The happiness from life

No matter what the rewards are

They would cause naught but strife

Sense and Sensibility

Do not pretend

That I do not comprehend

Your benefit and use

I truly do

Yet you would have me

Wear you as a shroud

Fill my sky with naught but clouds

This is something that shall not be

I vanquish myself from Sense and Sensibility

The Fire (Part 3)

We all live in the dark

But the question is

Do you face the light

Or do you take flight

Into the velvet night

Swim in pools of black

Never to come back

Lost to the antithesis

Of your hearts preferences

Do not fear

The presence of shadows

Though they surround you

They cannot harm

For in your palm

You carry the fire

In that fight, you never tire

True, they will plague you

Your whole life through

The reward is worth the strife

So hold the torch up high

Watch the shadows flee

Fearing your loyalty

The zealous passion to divinity

So here I stand

I shall not run

I carry the fire

Of the One

Through the fire

I am whole

I claim it for my own

It is sustenance

From the cold

A guide in an unfamiliar world

The fire blazes bright

Slave to its rhythm

Hear it crackle and roar

I shall not lose it

Ever more

Now reignited

It will burn eternal

I will tend to it

Like a love maternal

Religion Is For Idiots?

These days the cry is getting louder and louder, given amplification by the scientific voices of the 21st century, that religion is for idiots. Each age has harboured such heralds, but these people have become leaders and their cries have become chants which are spoken as fact.

Richard Dawkins, David Attenborough, Steven Hawkins and many other popular and well known faces of science, vehemently affirm that an intelligent mind would not believe in the fairytale of God. They strive to look at the world and see the absence of God. They look to not see it, so of course they miss it.

They don’t have open minds, so their findings will always be flawed. If you are not open to the possibility that there could be a God, then you haven’t disproved their being one, you’ve ignored it.

They are in the business of God Refusion.

They work tirelessly to provide alternatives, why?

‘For modern day life requires it. We cannot continue to engage in time gone practices and beliefs.’

‘Why? Has man changed? Has yesterdays truth become a lie today?’

‘Modern day people are too intellectually evolved and enlightened to keep perpetuating the myth of God.’

‘Why? What do we now know that answers the fundamental questions and mysteries of life?’

The answer is: NOTHING!

Nothing has been ventured by science which answers the fundamental. All we have is more description of process and details of life. But we are being taught and forced into thinking that we do have concrete answers and explanations which you would believe in if you were not stupid.

Why is it being said that religion is the easy way out? Why is there a demonisation of believers? Why is it being said that a thinking mind will birth an atheist belief?

I have an intellectual belief in God and my Religion.

You could too, if you were able to dissect, explore and expand upon notions and processes of thinking. In order to do so however you must leave aside your prejudice, preconceptions and ego. You have to have an open mind which will lead you to the truth and then allow you to accept it. It seems that these days, over complication is the disease which is taking us from the truth.

I want to discuss just a few thinking processes, theories and signs, to clarify why i have said all of the above.

First of all I want to look at Logic. This has been hijacked by atheist science, and is used to retort all that a person of faith may say.

‘WELL LOGICALLY THAT MAKES NO SENSE!!!’

Right, so let us explore that. If you want to clutch onto logic, then you should apply it to its fullest extent. Let us apply it to the theories science has offered to explain how life began. That is where logic must first be applied.

The first explanation we are given, the one most unanimously agreed upon, is the ‘Big Bang Theory’.

(no, not that one. the other one)

The suggestion that an explosion which caused destruction and chaos, also caused the formation of our planet and solar system, a structure which is perfect in every aspect.

So what is being said is an explosion caused perfection. That is logical to you? A RANDOM collision, which was not ordered or guided, just occurred RANDOMLY, between rock and matter, along with RANDOMLY PERFECT amounts of heat, gases and forces, which all RANDOMLY were present at that moment, created perfection. Right!

(isnt that how it normally goes?)

So if I put all the components of a watch into a sealed container, fed heat and energy into it, and had it mechanically oscillate, rotate and crash the contents together, then I could expect a fully formed Rolex to be produced?

If the process is repeated a million times over, would you believe that could happen? Yet you would believe in that process being responsible for the creation of the planet you walk upon.

A planet, which sits at a degree perfect placement to the Sun. A degree closer or farther from the Sun, and Earth would not be inhabitable for life. Such PERFECTION from a RANDOM COLLISION. Where else has science ever proved such randomness to create such perfection? Where else can you see perfection being born from destruction?

Think of all the collisions you can conjure up, is there ANYTHING in it that can be predicted? Is there any aspect of it which is controlled? Has it ever produced anything but anarchy of matter?

The same intellectual ludicrousness is expected of you when science tries to explain how human life has come to be. Evolution.

(no, not that one)

(this one!)

The less spoken part of the Evolution Theory is that the whole thing was caused by Random Mutation. You’ll hear lecturers talk about that aspect for a minute, then drone on for hours about what came after. But again, I ask you to apply simple logic to it. Would you believe that a RANDOM genetic mutation could occur in today’s age and lead to the X-Men characters conjured by Marvel?

Because that is exactly what you are accepting by believing in the Evolution theory. That by chance, just one day, for no reason, purely randomly, a mutation occurred which led to a process of an extremely complicated higher life form being produced.

A mutation, a random mutation, created an infinitely, intricately, complicated creation. Cancer is caused by mutation, and it caused death and destruction of organisms. But this one. This one created life. Right!

A kind of mutation still not seen, in the millions of years since life has said to have been on Earth. Millions of years on, we still have not seen it manifest itself. But it occurred, randomly, and we have to thank it, for that is why we are here? If a student were to use random mutation to justify a theory that one day elephants will be able to walk on water, the thesis would be mocked and discarded, rightly so. But we can accept that a cell within an ape mutated and lead to a human. Right!

The Theory of Evolution and the Big Bang, rely upon heavy explanation of process rather than focusing upon what initiated the process. I could believe in the process, but not without believing that it was guided and controlled by a supreme hand, which had the supreme power to cause it.

Limitations plague all of Creation. All that lives was created. Man is the product of Creation, not of Process. So as limited beings you can only make that which is inferior in its capabilities than you. You cannot produce that which is superior in organic, physical and energy properties than you possess.

It is only logical that a Supreme Body, which due to its Higher Capabilities was the one that created, guided and initiated it all. For that is true in every other aspect of life that we accept. So why is it not accepted there.

You would NEVER believe that a baby could wash the dishes, mow the lawn, tidy the house and balance your cheque book. You would NEVER accept that a koala bear could create a mobile phone. You would NEVER accept that the most powerful and sophisticated technology created a horse foal. Because you can see the limitation all of those things have and you can see how they could never make something that is beyond their capability. So how did non living, simple structured organisms and inanimate forces create the vast complexities of LIFE?! Of Humans and Earth, and all that it carries?!

Science cannot answer the tough aspect of Creation. The Beginning. Yes, you can plant a seed for it to grow into a tree. You can incubate an egg to hatch a chicken, but can we create an egg or a seed? Can we put cells, blood and tissues together and create a human? No. The secret of life, the secret of the beginnings of all organisms is still a secret, which is irreproducible.

So I want to ask you, who is more stupid? The one who spends their life discussing process when their foundation is flawed? Or the one who is able to see the truth from simple facts?

Apply all the laws, theories and beliefs of modern science, (when it comes to explaining life), to everyday situations and you’ll laugh at what your being asked to believe, yet you believe they when it comes to the most crucial aspect of your existence.

If you know who made you and how, then you can go on to answering the why and what now.

So religion is not for idiots. It is for the smart.

Darkness

Embrace The Dark

Dont be afraid of the dark. Embrace it. We all wander in the dark at some point in our life. Some more than others.

The dark is so misunderstood. It is not a bad place. It is not black, but varying shades of grey. It is a place for all of mankind. The dark lives inside us. It is a second home.

Lost In The Dark

Yet as soon as one enters into it, they begin looking for a way out.

If only we were brave, we would understand that it is the medium in which you can achieve true change. A place for transition. Never meant to be a permanent home, unless you let it be, but do allow for it to be a temporary abode.

During your stay you will find a comfort of sorts, not in your habitation but in your leaving. The dark provides a gift to those who made their stay, in it, successful.

True, whilst you are in the dark, you will face demons. You will stumble and fall, be lost and frightened. More alone than you’ve ever been before. Yes it will test your character, but the longer you spend in the dark, the greater chance you have of discovering the monster in you. Of then facing it. Defeating it.

You can then leave the dark, reborn. Stronger. Enlightened. Better. And when you face the light, you won’t blink, it will not blind you. Instead you will smile and bathe in its warmth. See it clearer than ever before. The light will make sense. A life of eternal summers ever after. Doesn’t that sound like a prize worth testing yourself for. The dark can offer it to you.

Into The Light

But our fear, that makes us look for an exit as soon as we enter the dark. Even if the door out is to a worse place, we would gladly take it, just to be out of the dark. We would rather wake up and escape into a reality that is more horrid. That is why change doesn’t occur. You didn’t allow yourself to explore yourself in the dark, to understand who you are and why you live the life you do. People say you see clear by the light, but in the dark all truths rise to the surface of your conscious. There are some things you would only explore in the comforting secrecy offered by it. In the dark there is nowhere to hide, because all is lost. And in that loss you stand to gain.

Fear

If you want to change your life, then kill your fear and be brave enough to face the uncertainty, anxiety and pain that comes with introspection. Then put that which you’ll learn into action. Embrace the dark and call it home, for a period, and you’ll leave happy. I have.

New Dawn
